From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leaders
Brazilian Butterfly began with a mum of three and a bold idea — to reimagine waxing as a professional, hygienic, and approachable beauty service. What started in a small Richmond salon with family support and kitchen-bench product prep, has grown into a trusted national brand. Today, we proudly offer Australian-made, cruelty-free, and vegan-friendly wax and aftercare products, with a strong focus on training, customer care, and next-gen salons. We’re excited to keep evolving — and can’t wait to welcome you on the journey.

So, you’ve booked your Brazilian wax – now what?
First, the technician will cleanse the area, clearing away any lotions or oils. Next comes the protective pre-wax treatment, followed by the waxing itself – a swift application and peeling off of the wax, along with your hair. Finally, your esthetician will share aftercare advice to ensure a smooth recovery and radiant results.
If it’s your first time getting a Brazilian wax, keep these factors in mind for a fabulously smooth ride:
- Length matters. Grow your hair out enough so that your BB therapist has room to work with. We’ll take care of the trimming for you when you come in for your session!
- Timing is important! If you get sensitive around that time of the month, schedule your session mindfully to avoid increased skin sensitivity. We don’t want you to be uncomfortable!
- Prep the canvas. Exfoliate or bathe beforehand to strip away dead skin for easier hair removal.
- Trust the pros. Your BB therapists are here to maximise results and prevent risks. Lie back, and let us take care of you!
There’s also the aftercare to keep in mind coming out of your Brazilian wax session.
For the first twenty-four hours post-wax, your skin prefers a chill vibe. Stick with cool water to help soothe and settle it back into its groove. You’ll want to embrace aftercare lotions as well, as these lotions are our best friend in wiping off the waxy residue, soothing your skin, and preventing those pesky red bumps and ingrown hairs.
Next, do the ‘exfoliate and moisturise’ dance: start this routine two to three days post-wax, when your skin has had its rest. But remember, moisturise from day one or two so you can keep your skin hydrated without clogging your pores or exposing it to harsh chemicals.
Finally, play hide-and-seek with the sun! Keep your freshly waxed skin away from the sun for at least twenty-four hours to avoid any chances of burning. If you’re feeling a bit heated under your skin after a Brazilian wax, a quick way to calm it down is with a cold compress. It’s like giving your skin a little ‘You did great, sweetie’ pat.
By rocking these aftercare tips, you’ll ensure your skin stays happy, healthy, and ready for your next Brazilian wax adventure!
How long will you be rocking the salon gown for a Brazilian wax? Typically, fifteen to thirty minutes, though first-timers may need up to an hour. It’s a quick transformation!
You’re curious: is a Brazilian wax painful? The answer is no; it isn’t at all! The intensity varies with each individual; for some, it’s a slight pinch, while others might not feel a thing. Generally, though, it’s a fleeting discomfort that results in a fabulous outcome, and it only gets better over time.
To take the edge off, you may try an over-the-counter painkiller about thirty minutes before your Brazilian wax rendezvous. Brazilian Butterfly uses a secret-recipe berry wax that’s designed to keep the ouchies to a minimum, but don’t hesitate to chat with your BB therapist about any concerns; they’re there to make it as comfortable as possible for you.
Your transformation starts here at Brazilian Butterfly.

Navigating the Brazilian wax experience
First-time jitters: you don’t have to worry!
First-time jitters: you don’t have to worry!
- Stay calm. Deep breaths during the process can help minimise discomfort. Remind yourself that it’s only temporary, and soon you’ll be strutting around with silky smooth skin.
- No judgements here. Brazilian Butterfly is all about creating a comfortable space. Your therapist is a pro and has seen it all (really!), so you can relax knowing that there’s no judgement here.
- It’s okay to be a little nervous. If you have some anxiety concerns and need some reassurance about the waxing process, give your therapist a heads-up. They’re equipped to make the process as comfortable as possible and will talk you through what to expect when you’re being waxed.
- Don’t be shy – speak up! Always voice your concerns and preferences to your therapist. They can tailor the process to make it more comfortable for you.
